On March 11, 2025, an accident occurred at the production site of JSC "Navoiyazot" involving a leakage of technological gas from an inter-shop pipeline. Official statements about the incident were published on the Company’s official website, its Telegram channel, as well as on the social media platforms Facebook and Instagram.

As a result of the formation of a gas-air mixture and its ignition, a fire broke out in the laboratory of workshop No. 25, which produces nitric acid.
Unfortunately, this incident caused severe consequences, with eleven people injured to varying degrees, two of whom died. The management of JSC "Navoiyazot" expresses its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the employees who tragically lost their lives.

An internal inspection and investigation were conducted by a commission established by the Committee on Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety. It was determined that the cause of the fire was the insufficient briefing of shift supervisors on the newly installed gas pipelines and technological control schemes.

To prevent similar incidents in the future, the enterprise issued Order No. 848 dated May 7, 2025, which provides a comprehensive set of measures to strengthen industrial safety:

– Investigation of the causes and circumstances of the accident with documentation recorded in the personal instruction cards of all enterprise employees;

– Conducting extraordinary training and knowledge testing for technological workers of workshops No. 909, 912, 916, 10, 49, and "Ammonia-3" with the participation of a representative from the territorial body of the Committee on Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety, accompanied by the issuance of a knowledge verification report;

– Conducting extraordinary training and knowledge testing for managers and engineering-technical personnel of all workshops consuming synthesis gas, with the participation of a representative from the territorial body of the Committee on Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety;

– Inspection of shut-off and control valves on technological pipelines for the presence of markings indicating "Open" or "Closed" positions, followed by the correction of identified discrepancies, among other measures.

JSC "Navoiyazot" recognizes the need to strengthen internal control measures and enhance the effectiveness of existing industrial safety procedures.

To prevent future incidents, the enterprise plans to strengthen monitoring of compliance with safety measures and implement additional actions to improve the instruction system, oversee the introduction of new technical solutions, and ensure adherence to established regulations.
